The Alpine Hiker is A5500 approved and designed for individuals with diabetes who require special footwear for foot protection. This makes it extremely comfortable for any child even if they don’t need the medical benefit. It is also approved for L3202 & L3203 medical codes which are used for orthopedic shoes designed to address foot positioning issues in children, like flat feet (pronation) or high arches (supination). Additionally, it's approved for L3216 & L3221 where the key feature is the depth inlay, a modification that provides extra space within the shoe to accommodate orthotic devices, custom insoles, or other medical needs. The Alpine adaptive high-top hiker features a suede and mesh upper with a traditional lacing system. EVA midsole for added comfort. The rugged hiker rubber outsole gets great traction and is extremely durable. Removable insole is lined with moisture-wicking material. Included is a 3mm EVA spacer insole that can be added or removed to achieve the right fit. Medium (M) = D width, Wide (W) = E width, Extra Wide (XW) = 3E width and Extra Extra Wide (XXW) = 5E width
